Why three boxes?
For decades the same game often shipped with completely different packaging in Japan, North America and Europe: new art, new names, sometimes new characters. Box Art Abroad puts those covers side by side and lets you vote on which region did it better.
What's here
214 games across 22 platforms, from the Famicom to the PlayStation 5, with 610 front covers. Each game lists its Japanese title (with romanization), its North American and European titles, and a short note when the difference has a well-documented story.
How voting works
Cover Battles hide the region labels so you judge the art itself. Votes are anonymous, one per browser per game, and you can change yours. The ranking gives a win to whichever region leads each game.
Sources & rights
Cover scans come from community archives (LaunchBox Games Database, libretro-thumbnails (GitHub)), checked by hand for official printings rather than fan-made art. Every image's origin is listed in sources.json. Cover art is shown for commentary and comparison and belongs to its respective owners. This is an independent fan project with no affiliation with any publisher or platform holder.
Where no English-language European cover was archived, a national European release (for example German or UK) is shown and labeled.
